5 Current Appreciators
5.1 BestBlogs.net
June 2010 - Present
Erica Douglass ([http://erica.biz]) contacted me about an early
stage startup she was working on. Best Blogs provides a syndicated
and aggregated list of the best blogs on the internet; it also
provides tools for blog owners and is planned to provide a
recommendation engine for users and blogs that they may like.
Erica hired me to re-build the application from scratch using
Python.
6 Previous Appreciators
6.1 (open source) Kohana: A Swift PHP5 Framework
December 2008 - June 2010
KohanaPHP is a thriving open-source web application framework
built on the PHP programming language.
I had core commit access and played a key role in a few of the
core features, much of the core documentation, bugfixing, and
authored many 3rd party developer approved modules.
My participation with this project has been put on hold as I am
currently working with the Python/Pylons web application stack.
6.2 Raster Media
April 2010 - June 2010
Raster Media approached me with a security sensitive project named
Life Cellar that was intending to be a "home away from home" for
your important documents in the event an emergency happened.
I designed, engineered, and built the first iteration of the web
application. The requirements called for:
-
dynamic form building using AJAX
-
secure encryption of data
-
share documents or document repositories with contacts
-
administrative impersonation of users for assistance
-
&c…
This project took six weeks for its first iteration.
6.3 Vivid Web Graphics
January 1010 - March 2010
Sean Ansari (sole proprietor of Vivid Web Graphics) approached me
with a project for a client of his that needed a writer's
marketplace with a twist. That twist was to provide randomized
internet marketing copy-writing to buyers by dividing a buyer's
order into a randomized set of jobs that any writer signed up on
the site could pick from and work on. The project was named Sqrib.
The project used a crude URL page scraper to (try) and verify
content was posted by writers on the specified web address and a
copy protection service was also used to check for original work.
This project took a total of ten weeks for its first complete
iteration.
6.4 Raster Media
January 2009 - July 2009
I was employed at Raster Media (prior to my being contracted by
them, as noted above) for six months and was responsible for two
major projects, assistance and maintenance on a few small projects
and a big client project Western Veterinary Conference, as well
as the design and setup of their entire development infrastructure
and pipeline.
The projects I worked on (that are on the web):
6.5 BOOMj.com
May 2008 - December 2008
I was employed at BOOMj.com (now BeyondCommerce.com) and was
responsible for these projects:
-
National geolocated adserver (PHP/Python) software and client widget
-
Custom order processing and confirmation system (PHP)
-
Subversion Synchronization System (Python/Subversion)
-
Feed and video scraping client (PHP)
-
Custom search page/engine (PHP)
-
Two million+ image resizing and archival tool (PHP)
6.6 Thomas & Mack Center
May 2007 - May 2008
I was employed at the Thomas and Mack Center entertainment venue
and worked on a number of their small projects:
7 Availability
I am currently available for time commitments that do not exceed 20
hours of work per week.
Because my schedule changes rapidly, I do not always remember to
update this section of my resume as things change. Email me if you
have specifics and I can let you know if I am interested and if I
have the time.
